Southwest Metal Treating offers both Vickers and Knoop micro-hardness testing services. These tests are done to check the resistance level of a material to plastic or permanent deformation. While it does permanently affect the surface of the part being checked, the area affected is typically very small. But please note that this test is still considered to be a destructive one. As a result, your finished machine parts that undergo it will be permanently damaged. Be sure to plan accordingly.
